Vintage Rolex Red Submariner For Sale 1680 Mk4 – 1971

Here we have an extremely nice Rolex Red Sub for sale from the 3rd quarter of 1971.

A really beautiful piece with clean case free from dings and noticeable scratches..

The beautiful red writing dial has open 6’s typical of the first mk4 red sub dials and super clear print with dial plots and matching hands that are a gorgeous deep yellow tone. The bezel is in great condition rotating smoothly and the insert is free from scratches and has a matching yellow tritium pearl.

A 3.0m serial dates the watch to 1971 and the caseback is stamped ii 71 confirming a 1971 build date.

The watch has no original paperwork but has service marks inside the case showing previous services and keeps good time.

Red subs seem to be flavour of the month once more but finding really nice ones keeps getting harder and harder.

A very nice all round original piece.

Dial & Hands: Beautiful crisp red writing dial with great yellow patina plots and matching original hands. Matching insert with matching tritium yellow pearl.

Case & Caseback:  Nice clean case and Rolex caseback correctly stamped with year, quarter and model numbers. Serial numbers and model numbers clearly visible between the lugs to the naked eye.

Bracelet: Is currently wearing a very nice original Rolex Oyster 93150 bracelet with Rolex 580 end pieces a little stretch and a firm locking clasp.

Movement: Original non-hacking Rolex 1570 movement keeping good time. Original open 6’s silver date wheel.
