Vintage Tudor Submariner For Sale – 7016 Military Gilt Dial 1968

Here we have a Vintage Tudor Submariner For Sale – a 7016 Military Gilt Dial from 1968.

Between 1968 and 1975 the Tudor Watch Company contractually issued watches to both the Marine Nationale (French Navy) and US military divisions, including the reference Tudor Submariner 7016 we have here.

This Tudor sub is one of the very earliest issued with a 623k serial number that dates it to the beginning of 1968 and has the rare gilt minute marker dial with silver small rose print.

The patina on this watch is something else. The dial has an almost reflective texture to it and the hour plots have gone a dark yellow/brown shade that really set of the orange/gold gilt minute markers.

The matching hands have the rare ‘big bubble’ second hand also and the whole thing is finished off with a jaw dropping mark free faded light grey bezel with matching orange pip!

This is one of the nicest vintage Tudor Submariner watch for sale I have had. Photographs do not do this piece justice!

Tudor Submariner 7016 Military Gilt Dial

Dial & Hands: Beautiful black gilt minute marker Tudor dial with silver wording and deep orange/brown hour markers. Correct matching Tudor hands and sweeping ‘big bubble’ second hand.

Case & Caseback: 623k serial correct to early 1968 with all numbers clearly readable between the lugs. Correctly stamped Rolex caseback both inside and outside. Thick lugs with the original beveled edges almost still visible, extremely clean case and with incredible faded light grey fat font insert and orange pip/pearl.

Bracelet: Comes as head only but can discuss various bracelet/nato options. Looks superb on a black and grey nato.

Movement: Original calibre Tudor 390 movement in excellent serviced condition and keeping good time.

Box & Papers: The watch has recently been serviced by my watchmaker but as is typical with these Tudor 7016 does not come with box or papers.
