Here we have an absolutely stunning Rolex 1655 Explorer II Orange Hand Steve McQueen with straight seconds hand, MK1 dial, MK1 bezel and from the very earliest production run of 2.7m serials.

An extremely rare beast indeed!

This very rare first series watch has become known by enthusiasts as the “Steve McQueen” or the “Freccione”.

Finding good condition early Steve McQueen straight hand’s is not a simple task.

Finding ones like this is even harder!

Beautiful cream lume dial and fading orange hand, amazing Mk1 bezel with all numbers clear and a lovely fat case.

Serviced by Rolex UK in 2010 and comes with their Guarantee paperwork, swimpruf and chronometer tags, Your Rolex Oyster booklet, translation guide, wallet, rare early Rolex Explorer booklet, rare green stripe Rolex box and letter from original owners nephew.

Rolex Explorer 1655 – Steve McQueen Orange Hand

Dial & Hands: Beautiful Rolex 1655 Mk1 dial with perfect matching creamy tritium hands and fading orange 24 hour hand. Rare straight second hand from the first series.

Case & Case back: 2.7m serial dates this to the very first run of 1655’s with all numbers clearly readable between the lugs. Thick case that is correctly stamped inside the case back. Very good original Mk1 bezel.

Bracelet: The watch is wearing an excellent Rolex 78360 oyster bracelet with correct Rolex 580 end pieces in the pictures but has it’s original 7836 folded link bracelet available as a choice to the buyer.

Movement: Original Rolex serviced 1575 date movement in excellent condition.

Box & Papers: This watch was given a full mechanical service by Rolex UK in June 2010, has been only very lightly worn since and comes with the international service warranty certificate issued at the time. Swimpruf and chronometer tags, Your Rolex Oyster booklet, translation guide, wallet, rare early Rolex Explorer booklet, rare green stripe Rolex box and letter from original owners nephew.
