Description

Here we have a rare bird indeed.

A Tag Heuer full lume dive watch issued to the Marine Nationale.

The Marine Nationale is the French Navy and one of the oldest serving Naval fleets in the world and still very active today.

You can read more about them here:-

This watch is a Tag Heuer reference 980.113D and in its own right quite a rare piece. With its full lume reverse dial, date, Swiss quartz ESA 536.121(AS) movement, rotating bezel and waterproof to 200m it is your typical dive watch.

This one is all the more rare having been issued to the Marine Nationale and has the correct MN engraving on the case back. What’s more it is a cool serial number being 007!

The Marine Nationale used a number of suppliers over the years for their dive watches, most famously the Tudor and Rolex Submariners of the 70’s which have become hugely collectible and values continue to rise steeply.

This Tag Heuer MN has been seen in much smaller numbers and this is only the 3rd or 4th I have seen surface to date.

In very good overall condition the case looks unpolished, which is good and dial, hands, bezel and crystal are all very clean.

A cool watch, with some very interesting military provenance and probably not a watch you will bump into someone else wearing!
